PROMOTIONS

Last season The Promotions Team & many of the Committee were basically chucked in at the deep end. In saying that, the season was fairly successful and a few hard lessons learnt.

Some of the goals, the Promotions Team set for itself was to go to the Spanz & Speedway NZ Conference and develop new relationships and of course win some Championships.

The Conference for most part was a success with renewed relationships with Huntly, Rotorua and many other Clubs as well as the A.S.S.C.C. walking away with a few Championship titles for both this season and next.

Championships for this season are the North Island Modified Title, NZ Minisprint Champs and the New Zealand Saloon Car Championship.

For the Super Stock Class next season we have the North Island Champs.

On top of all this we also have the Ollie Brown Super Stock Spectacular and the King of the Clay for Super Saloons. We are setting a new format for the Auckland club titles where the championships will be done on a points basis over the whole season, we will accommodate for each class if there are cars travelling and make sure it is fair for everyone. You will also notice that we are offering triple points for the first meeting, these points will be the start for all classes towards the championships so get your cars ready early.

As said earlier we have developed a good relationship with the other clubs at the conference and are going to support each other over the season. We have been working on the calendar and have aligned them so all classes can attend the titles they wish to without conflict to each others show, but we must stress that all clearances will only be given two weeks prior to the event you wish to attend no exceptions, remember we have our own show to plan which includes advertising that has to be booked. Clearances need to be given to your drivers rep who will present to the promotions team for signing, we will have forms for these on the website or you will be able to get them from your drivers rep also.

We have had a new website designed that we have full control of so we can do the updates not someone else, it looks very professional and will provide our members and fans all the relevant information required. All entry forms and any other forms will be available so I hope you all enjoy the benefits, this will be up and running live in early September. We are currently in negotiations with Radio Works to give them naming rights which will give us some advertising discounts for the season as last year it was one of our largest costs, we will keep you posted on how these are proceeding.

We are looking forward to the up and coming season, last year was okay but we expect this season to be very good and look forward to your support. Only 90 days before the first practice so get cracking and get those cars ready.

SALOON REPORT

Hi guys

Hope all of your off-season rebuilds are underway; we only have less than 100 days till racing kicks off again.

From the sounds of things Auckland should have big numbers for both Supers and Saloons for this coming season with a few out of town cars expected to register.

Congratulations to all of the trophy winners for last season. Well done. Prize giving was a success and everyone had a great night.

MODIFIED REPORT

The modified class is looking very strong again this year which is great to see, with the North Island champs in our own back yard we are expecting our local drivers to be on the podium( no Pressure).

As you are all aware the Modifieds are always un scrutiny with noise levels and this isnt going to change in fact its going to get worse, what we are going to do though is get a reading of everyones car individually on practice days and log the results, this will give anyone who is over a chance to rectify the situation. This will be done with an independent noise meter, there is always going to be question about visitors complying but we will stipulate on our entry forms that the 95dbl rule will apply.

The calendar will be available at this months drivers meeting and is aligned with all other tracks so you are able to compete in other regional championships. Our Auckland championship format is different this year where is will based on overall points over the season with triple points for your first meeting so get those cars ready the first meeting.

Well thats about all, if you have any questions please dont hesitate to give me a call 021 687475

MINISPRINT REPORT

With the NZ Champs being held in Auckland, there seems to be a positive growth in the class with many drivers wishing to register with the A.S.S.C.C. this season.

Talks between both the Promotions Team and the Drivers have found a common fault that has seen the Class falter in the past which has both parties keen to rectify, through better representation and communication between the ASSCC, Drivers and the North Island Minisprint Club.

Aaron Drever Real Estate Ltd proudly sponsors the NZ Minisprint Championship.

NOTICE BOARD

  • Transponders are required at all times for the coming season in all Classes. Just a reminder too, dont forget to give them a charge through the off season as well. It will save you some heartache later.
  • At many of the meetings this season, the wristband system will be used for the pit area; Crew uniforms are still to be used regardless. Even with a band, no proper attire will mean that your crew can be asked to leave the pit area.
  • Volunteers are needed this year to help out with race meetings; those people who may be interested in helping out can contact any of the promotions team. We need Handicappers, Vehicle Checkers, and Infield Staff etc.
